Overview

The
gist

Canvyst combines a block-based document editor with an infinite canvas. Teams can capture ideas in prose, arrange concepts visually, connect related knowledge, and collaborate in shared workspaces with synchronized changes.

Problem → fix

Why we
built it

We kept hitting the same annoying problem, so we built the thing we wanted to use.

/001/Challenge

The product problem

Linear documents work well for detail while visual canvases work well for relationships. Keeping those modes in separate products fragments ideas, duplicates content, and makes it harder for a team to maintain one current version.

/002/Solution

What the experience needed

Canvyst unifies documents and spatial thinking within the same workspace, supporting linked knowledge, multiplayer editing, history, comments, and responsive local-first interaction.
